Top Four Places to Visit in North Raleigh

Think North Raleigh is boring? Think again. This up-and-coming area has been growing steadily over the last few decades, and more and more businesses have helped transform it into an exciting, interesting place to be. If you live in one of our modern North Raleigh townhomes, here are just a few of the places you’ll be able to visit that are less than 15 minutes away.

Shop, Sip, and Stay at North Hills

Only 15 minutes away from Durant Towns, North Hills is North Raleigh’s ultimate destination spot for drinking, dining, shopping, and celebrating. The enormous district is comprised of an open-air shopping center, which features over 130 shops; multiple four-star hotel rooms; a 14-screen theatre; a small park; and much more. You’ll definitely want to stop by and splurge on some upscale designer clothes at Gena Chandler or Vermillion, or grab a bite to eat at local favorites like The Cowfish and Yard House. In the summer, you can come attend rock and country concerts, or participate in fitness classes at Midtown Park.

The French Connection at Lafayette Village

Located off I-540 and Falls of Neuse Road — about 8 minutes from Durant Towns — Lafayette Village is a uniquely charming open-air shopping center modeled off a European village. You may feel as though you’re exploring a theme park as you stroll through paved walkways and quaint boutique shops. Food options are quite diverse, however, with favorites like Driftwood Cantina and Zanyu Asian Noodles. In addition to shopping and dining, Lafayette Village also frequently hosts events, artist exhibits, and live music shows all year round, so you’ll want to come back again and again.

One of America’s Most Scenic Bike Trails

Even though Durant Towns is about two miles from Durant Nature Preserve, it still might be worth checking out another gorgeous (green) hotspot — the Neuse River Greenway. Situated just 5 minutes from Durant Towns, this 27.5-mile paved greenway has been said to be one of the prettiest, flattest, and easiest-to-navigate trails you can traverse on two wheels in North Carolina. Offering views of historic sites, as well as winding boardwalk areas and suspension bridges crossing over wetlands, the trail is open to joggers, walkers, runners, cyclists, rollerbladers, and others. Many consider the Neuse River Greenway Trail to be the gem of the 100-plus-mile Capital Area Greenway System, so it’s definitely worth exploring at least once.
